【簡介】 Creating Transparent AIFrom agriculture to transportation, entertainment to medicine, and banking to social media, artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how humans do practically everything. We experience AI in our daily lives through our fitness trackers, home digital assistant systems, and curated news services, to name a few examples. For talent development, this is no different. The fields of artificial intelligence and talent development have been on a collision course for decades, and their convergence has already occurred. It has just taken many in our profession some time to recognize this fact. On the horizon, AI-powered innovations are transforming the workplace and the role of the talent development professional, affecting recruiting to training to compensation. As such, there are actions TD professionals should take now to prepare ourselves and our organizations for the evolving AI revolution. In AI in Talent Development, Margie Meacham describes the benefits, uses, and risks of AI technology and offers practical tools to strengthen and enhance learning and performance programs. In layman's terms, Meacham demonstrates how we can free time for ourselves by employing a useful robot "assistant," create a chatbot for specific tasks (such as a new manager bot, a sales coach bot, or new employee onboarding bot), and build personalized coaching tools from AI-processed big data. She concludes each of the six chapters with helpful tips and includes a resource guide with planning tools, templates, and worksheets.Meacham dispels fear of AI's black box--the term used to describe its unknowability and opacity--and points out ways AI can help us be better at creativity and critical thinking, what we humans do best. 【目錄】

"Advances in Artificial intelligence (AI) have redefined research and development in many areas, particularly in the direction of engineering research, application of machine learning, and the use of deep learning in many aspects of engineering research. This book looks at the impact of AI and how it has transformed transportation in the form of Smart Traffic Management Systems in a world of unmanned systems and autonomous machines. The book explores the problems faced in air, sea and land transport and traffic. It looks into Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), autonomous and remotely-operated ships, intelligent port management systems, and modern urban railway systems. Redefining Traffic is a reference book for researchers, engineers, and technical personnel specializing in intelligent traffic, artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT). It can also be used as a study guide for advanced undergraduates interested in AI, vehicle engineering, automation, and computing. Sample Chapter(s) Introduction Chapter 1: Artificial Intelligence: A New Way to Lead Future Traffic Contents: Artificial Intelligence: A New Way to Lead Future Traffic Unmanned Driving: The Traffic Revolution Sweeping the World From Unmanned Driving to Intelligent Transportation Application of Unmanned Driving Technology in Urban Rail Transit Practical Application of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in Intelligent Traffic Management Unmanned Ship: The Inevitable Choice of the Strategy of Building a Powerful Maritime Country Unmanned Port: Application of Electrical Automation in Ports Unmanned Wharf: Disruptive Change in the Automatic Wharf Readership: Researchers, engineers, and technical personnel specialising in intelligent traffic, artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of things industry."

【簡介】 A concise and illuminating history of the field of artificial intelligence from one of its earliest and most respected pioneers.AI & I is an intellectual history of the field of artificial intelligence from the perspective of one of its first practitioners, Eugene Charniak. Charniak entered the field in 1967, roughly 12 years after AI’s founding, and was involved in many of AI’s formative milestones. In this book, he traces the trajectory of breakthroughs and disappointments of the discipline up to the current day, clearly and engagingly demystifying this oft revered and misunderstood technology. His argument is controversial but well supported: that classical AI has been almost uniformly unsuccessful and that the modern deep learning approach should be viewed as the foundation for all the exciting developments that are to come. Written for the scientifically educated layperson, this book chronicles the history of the field of AI, starting with its origin in 1956, as a topic for a small academic workshop held at Dartmouth University. From there, the author covers reasoning and knowledge representation, reasoning under uncertainty, chess, computer vision, speech recognition, language acquisition, deep learning, and learning writ large. Ultimately, Charniak takes issue with the controversy of AI--the fear that its invention means the end of jobs, creativity, and potentially even humans as a species--and explains why such concerns are unfounded. Instead, he believes that we should embrace the technology and all its potential to benefit society.
