This volume illuminates Fo Guang Shan and BLIA references, including terms, historical events, departments, organizations, persons, places, publications, Buddhist concepts, sutra titles, and quotes that appear in Fo Guang Shan publications and works by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Entries were selected based on translators’ needs, with the aim of assisting in the reading of the Complete Works of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, understanding of vernacular Buddhist expressions, and translation works of Humanistic Buddhism. The substantial expansion and enhancement of content in this edition represents a collaborative effort. This work would not have been possible without the support of dedicated practitioners, translators, volunteers, and scholars whose insights have helped ensure the accuracy and accessibility of the terms presented. Their contributions reflect the community spirit that is central to Humanistic Buddhism. Beyond its value to translators, The Glossary of Humanistic Buddhism serves multiple purposes: as a study companion in academic settings, a guide for temple visitors, or a resource for daily practice. It is designed to serve the needs of a broad spectrum of readers seeking clarity and connection through language.
